ImunizaSUS

Launched in 2021 by the Brazilian National Council of Municipal Health Secretariats (Conasems) and Brazil’s Ministry of Health, ImunizaSUS aimed to strengthen the National Immunization Program at a critical moment: the start of COVID-19 vaccination, amid fake news and growing public distrust. Brazil is a global reference in immunization, offering 19 free vaccines through the SUS, and this initiative sought to reinforce that legacy by training professionals, managers, and students nationwide.

The challenge was to engage thousands of professionals across the country, ensuring enrollment, retention, and active participation in online training while rebuilding confidence in vaccines.

I led national communication strategies to boost course enrollment and retention, coordinated suppliers managing social media, and scripted, directed, and produced a five-episode documentary series on the history of vaccination: Questão de Saúde (A Matter of Health). The program trained 52,000+ professionals, managers, and students, improving immunization practices and countering misinformation in the whole country.

The five-episode documentary series I led reached over 172,000 views on YouTube. The series was recognized by YouTube Brazil as one of the country’s best public health content initiatives, and after its release, the Conasems YouTube channel earned the trusted institution seal for reliable health information.
