This is a script for the TCU’s TikTok channel introducing how the institution takes action on climate change by auditing government initiatives and creating tools such as the ClimateScanner and ClimaBrasil Dashboard.

EN version

Did you know that Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts

keeps an eye on everything related to public management

— and even cares about the climate?

That’s right! We’re also tuned into climate change and

found an innovative way to track what governments are

doing about it. Check this out!

Imagine if every country had a report card showing

what it’s doing to protect the environment. Now imagine

all those reports gathered in one single place — easy to

find, easy to compare. That’s ClimateScanner — a tool created

by Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts together with other

audit institutions around the world. It helps Supreme Audit

Institutions check whether governments are really doing

their climate homework.

The ClimateScanner was designed to assess three main things:

  • if each government is properly planning its climate actions.

  • if those plans are actually being implemented

  • and if governments are reporting their results transparently.

Here in Brazil, the TCU developed the ClimaBrasil Dashboard

— a visual, open, and easy-to-understand platform that shows

all this information in one place.

It’s full of data, charts, and insights that help monitor and

strengthen public climate policies.

And that’s not all! The TCU is also training other audit institutions

across the country to use these tools — joining forces to protect

our shared future.

The ClimateScanner and ClimaBrasil Dashboard put the environment

at the center of public decision-making. Because auditing is also

a way of taking care of the planet.
