As part of the Aedes na Mira Program — a nationwide initiative led by National Council of Municipal Health Secretariats (Conasems) to strengthen Brazil’s response against Aedes aegypti (mosquito that transmits dengue, Zika, and chikungunya) — I developed audiovisual pieces to document the program’s outcomes and local success stories. Click here to read more about the Aedes na Mira Project.

In its early years, the program enrolled 30,000+ students, and after its relaunch in 2023, it surpassed 50,000 certified professionals. By qualifying thousands of frontline workers, the project improved vector control strategies and contributed to reducing the risks of arbovirus outbreaks across Brazil.

Below you can find some of the productions I scripted, produced, conducted interviews for, and directed:

  1. Institutional Documentary

A film highlighting the first years of the program, showcasing how training health workers across Brazil helped build stronger strategies for mosquito control and prevention.
  1.  Mini Documentary – City of Recife

With around 1.5 million residents, Recife is one of the largest cities in Northeastern Brazil and a national reference in using technology to fight Aedes aegypti. The film shows how local health agents and communities worked together to reduce mosquito breeding sites.
  1. Mini Documentary – City of Campinas

Campinas, a city of about 1.2 million people in the state of São Paulo, faced mosquito Aedes aegypti breeding sites in the homes of compulsive hoarders. The city created a program that combines property cleaning with follow-up by a multidisciplinary health team, including psychological support for those affected.
