About the project
Aedes na Mira is a national training program created to strengthen the fight against Aedes aegypti — the mosquito that transmits dengue, Zika, and chikungunya, and a historic epidemiological challenge in Brazil. The project ran for four years and was relaunched in 2023 with updated content.

Challenge
The challenge was to reach and engage health professionals nationwide with a course that was accessible, relevant, and able to sustain participation over time.

My role
I served on the management committee, led communication and national outreach strategies, designed student retention initiatives, conducted in-person workshops across Brazil, and scripted, directed, and produced institutional videos and documentaries showcasing the project’s work and impact. Results
In its early years, the program enrolled 30,000+ students, and after its relaunch in 2023, it surpassed 50,000 certified professionals. By qualifying thousands of frontline workers, the project improved vector control strategies and contributed to reducing the risks of arbovirus outbreaks across Brazil.
